The subject of time travel has been around for quite some time and is always loved. From Indian epics such as The Mahabharata, where characters get to travel to the future and back, and now, Sci-Fi movies and TV shows many our favorite stories feature time travel.

The idea of time travel, as we see it in movies today, is quite recent. According to James Gleick, author of Time Travel- A History, the concept of intentionally traveling through time, forward or backward, was first introduced in the 19th century by H.G. Wells’ novel The Time Machine. Before Wells, stories like Washington Irving’s Rip Van Winkle had characters waking up in the future without any intentional travel.

The Mysterious Case of Sergei

Sergei Ponomarenko, a young man, was found in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2006 in a highly strange condition. His formal dress and the vintage camera were quite interesting. He was holding people’s attention.

When authorities questioned him, Sergei produced identification documents issued by USSR, which collapsed in 1991. Sergei’s ID card listed his birth year as 1932, yet his face looked like that of a man in…
